They narrate a community who, in its ability to resist, showed its strength, tenaciously claiming the right to its land. <strong>Sarah Mustafa <\/strong>with <em>The Spy Has Red Hair <\/em>tells of Leyla, an Italian-Palestinian student who must learn the truth about the death of a girl that occurred nearly sixty years earlier and in which a red-haired woman who may be Farida, her grandmother, seems to be involved. In an attempt to prove her innocence, Leyla returns to the refugee camp where she grew up and, with the help of her cousin Iman, tries to reconstruct events from the Palestinian Nakba. <strong>Alae Al Said <\/strong>with <em>The Boy with the Orange Keffiyeh <\/em>tells of Loai, a red-haired boy. Small, shy, studious and with that flaming hair, he is the perfect victim for the school bullies. Family support cannot suffice, but meeting Ahmad, a poor but strong and confident boy, offers him an escape route and a way to accept himself: together they share dreams of redemption; it is the birth of a friendship. 1967, June. A brief illusion, and a descent into a nightmare. It is the Six-Day War, the occupation. The bullying and violence that befalls Loai and his entire people seems like a paroxysmal and monstrous version of the bullying they once suffered. Loai has Ahmad by his side again, but the lesson of resistance now has far more tragic connotations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarah Mustafa <\/strong>was born in 1979 in Pavia, where she graduated in political science with a political-international focus in 2006. She spent her childhood and adolescence in a Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan, along with her father&#8217;s family. It was in that context that she encountered the reality she now recounts in her stories, bringing to light intense and little-known life experiences. Currently, Sarah lives between Italy and the Middle East. Her debut novel, <em>The Spy Has Red Hair<\/em>, published by Homo Scrivens, is set between Pavia and the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alae Al Said <\/strong>was born in Rome in 1991 to Palestinian parents. She grew up with a love for her homeland and a strong sense of justice. She graduated in International Studies at the University of Milan and, in 2019 published <em>Sabun<\/em>, her first novel (Zambon), in 2025 she published <em>The Boy with the Orange Kefiah<\/em> (Ponte Alle Grazie).
