Presentation of the book: UNA SPIRITUALITA’ LAICA by Romano Màdera
Spirituality is not a monopoly of any church or religion, and secularism is not a monopoly of those who are atheist, agnostic, indifferent or opposed to religion (Romano Màdera).
Is it possible to have a spiritual experience outside of religion? The dimension of spirituality, understood as a search for meaning independent of religious institutions, has deep roots in human experience. Far from being exclusive to traditional faiths, it can also manifest itself to those who do not believe in God or adhere to a specific faith. Through a journey that interweaves philosophy, history and personal reflection, Romano Màdera, a philosopher and psychoanalyst, analyzes the authentic meaning of the term “secularism,” disengaging it from opposition with the religious dimension, and instead recognizing it as a space open to dialogue and plurality of worldviews.
Discussing with the author are three faculty members from the University of Pavia with different scientific expertise (Luca Vanzago, Clelia Martignoni and Giorgio Sandrini) together with Walter Minella
