Intercollegiate Treasure Hunt

Pavia

The Pavia Intercollegiate Treasure Hunt is a goliardic-sporting event involving all of the city’s university colleges.

Teams, traditionally made up of freshmen from each college, will have to compete by tackling riddles and tests arranged in the various colleges of Pavia.

Each year an Organizing Committee is composed, consisting of two members from each College, and three for the “organizing” College (i.e., the one that won the previous edition).

The winning college, in addition to organizing the event the following year, also has the burden of organizing a party in which all participants can take part.

The Intercollegiate Treasure Hunt is now in its 17th edition and was won by Alessandro Volta College. It’s a tradition for the campus city that on a spring afternoon gathers teams from the 17 colleges, each with their own smoke bombs and mascot, to a packed and colorful Piazza Duomo.
